Exploring Frankfort, KY

Exploring Frankfort, KY

I took the day to explore Frankfort Kentucky with the idea to capture street photography and I’ve always been draw by the fantastic Kentucky Military History Museum building as it has always fascinated me.

Capturing this building in a way helps understand the why it has always been interesting to me was supremely difficult.

Perched on a hill overlooking the Kentucy river this red brick building this red brick castle perfectly encapsulates the history contained within. I highly recommend a visit to this museum and to see if in person. I don’t think my photos do it justice.

Nearby to I was able to capture the following images as I explored the streets of Frankfort.

I also set out to capture a photo in which clear distinct boundaries that are striking and naturally occurring. I have seen several examples of this type of photography- but have always wanted to capture my own. I found an opportunity while exploring Frankfort- but you will have to determine if it is striking enough to consider a good photograph. A google search was not able to find the artists’ who inspired me- but when I do, I will link them HERE.

The trees peaking between buildings which are crossed by a power line provided a striking distinction between colors, textures, etc. that I tried to capture in a single shot. Let me know what you think!

My favorite picture was of ivy growing in a wall with a broken window, found below.
